Saturday, December 21, 2024 1:07AM CST The House of Representatives and Senate both voted Friday evening to approve year-end legislation to keep the federal government operating. The legislation also includes more than $100 billion in disaster aid and $10 billion in economic aid to farmers, as well as extension of the farm bill through Sept. 30, 2025. Overall, farmers have nearly $31 billion in aid spelled out in the package.

March corn is up 2 3/4 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 7 cents, March KC wheat is up 3 cents, March Chicago wheat is up 1 1/2 cents and March Minneapolis wheat is up 5 1/4 cents.
Most of the livestock complex closed in the red on Thursday. Cattle likely saw pressure as traders positioned themselves ahead of the Cattle on Feed report. Hogs were lower but the losses were limited with May and June contracts posting slight gains supported by stronger cash.
